The Essentials of E-Commerce Packaging will introduce learners to the rapidly growing field of electronic commerce (e-commerce), focusing on sustainability considerations and implications for packaging. Beginning with a review of the broader e-commerce context, reviewing what e-commerce is, different e-commerce models, and how packaging moves throughout these different models, moving into supply chain optimization and the crucial role e-commerce packaging plays in product protection and damage prevention and finish up with examining exciting future innovations related to the use of technology and new packaging opportunities.

Are consumers ready to transition away from single-use behaviors? What counts as reusable packaging? The Essentials of Reusable Packaging examines the exciting new space of reusable and refillable primary packaging, offering insight into how companies can experiment with various reuse models.
The course identifies key trends that are driving new corporate commitments to and experimentation with reusable and refillable packaging. The course outlines the important environmental considerations behind switching to reusable packaging. Key life cycle analysis principles of switching from a single-use, lighter-weight material to heavier-weight durable packaging are examined. This course dives into what makes for successful reuse and refill programs, such as pricing and deposits, incentives, reverse logistics, health codes, and sanitization. On the whole, the Essentials of Reusable Packaging shares numerous case studies of product innovations, new business models, and startups creating new reusable packaging solutions.
