Seattle Public Utilities
Sego Jackson is Strategic Advisor for Waste Prevention and Product Stewardship for Seattle Public Utilities (SPU). SPU’s primary strategic approach is “Solving Problems at Their Source.” His responsibilities include, in part, implementation of Seattle’s foam, bag and food service packaging ordinances, waste prevention approaches to packaging, and working “upstream” to reduce contamination and improve the composting and recycling of packaging. Sego serves on the steering committee of the Northwest Product Stewardship Council and chairs its Packaging and Policy Subcommittees.
