
Jake Swenson
Staples
Jake Swenson is the Director of Sustainability for Staples, where he leads all sustainability-related initiatives for the company. Ensuring Staples customers can easily find and shop for more sustainable products to run their businesses is one major area of focus for Jake’s work. He also manages Staples sustainability goal setting and reporting, electronics recycling programs, and stakeholder engagement related to environmental topics. Finally, Jake collaborates with internal teams where needed to help support and track the progress of operational energy and waste reduction programs.
Jake has worked for Staples for 13 years in a sustainability role. Prior to joining Staples, Jake worked in environmental consulting, where he focused on environmental policy analysis and program management for federal agencies, including U.S. EPA. Jake has an MBA and an MS in Environmental Policy from the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Michigan. He received his BA in Politics from Princeton University. Jake lives in Concord, MA with his wife and two daughters.
