The LEGO Group


Liza Blackwell joined The LEGO Group in September of 2018 and is a Senior Manager in the Environmental Responsibilities department focused on developing and driving Packaging Sustainability strategy and the company’s approach to Circular Economy. In her first year at The LEGO Group, she has been driving work around the ambition to eliminate single use plastic and sustainable material selection for the 2025 Sustainable Packaging goals, and aligning business processes around circular economy principles.

Prior to joining The LEGO Group, Liza worked for twelve year at NIKE, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon where she worked as a Packaging Producer and six years in Packaging Sustainability. At NIKE she lead multiple projects including the relaunch of NIKE’s Packaging Restricted Substance List and the launch of NIKE’s Bag to Better program. She also helped lead the development of the first Packaging Restricted Substance List for the Apparel and Footwear Industry (AFIRM). While at NIKE, Liza served as a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s Executive Board. Prior to joining NIKE, Liza worked at Saatchi & Saatchi in print production.

Liza moved from Portland, Oregon to Vejle, Denmark in September of 2018 to work for The LEGO Group and is enjoying learning the Danish language and way of living. She also enjoys hiking and paddle boarding and any chance to be outside. She is a graduate of Indiana University with emphasis in Business/Marketing and Psychology.
