Welcome: Jade Diggs

April 2, 2022

The Sustainable Packaging Coalition is pleased to announce Jade Diggs has joined the team as an Event Coordinator.

Why sustainability?

I attended a magnet high school where my magnet was environmental science. So the environment and more specifically our climate is something that has always held space in my brain. I’ve also always loved events and worked really hard to be able to do well in this field. So the opportunity to combine these things, and also to be able to learn and find ways to do events more sustainably is what drove me here.

What do you hope to accomplish at Greenblue?

Personally, I hope to grow and learn as an event coordinator. I want to soak up as much information as possible, and be able to help assist in pushing GreenBlue events to be as sustainable, eco-friendly, and engaging, as possible. There are always improvements to be made, and I like being a part of that process.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I like to read quite a bit. I’ve been getting back to using my kindle, which is much easier for me because I tend to fly through books pretty quickly. I love listening to music, and can (and have) listened to songs or an album for weeks straight and nothing else. I’m very much the person who will sit in their car after arriving home just to keep listening to whatever music I had on.

Happiness is…

“I know that happiness has been the real, if covert, goal of your labors here. I know that it informs your choice of companions, the profession you will enter, but I urge you, please don’t settle for happiness. It’s not good enough. Of course, you deserve it. But if that is all you have in mind—happiness—I want to suggest to you that personal success devoid of meaningfulness, free of a steady commitment to social justice, that’s more than a barren life, it is a trivial one. It’s looking good instead of doing good.” – Toni Morrison
