GreenBlue is pleased to announce that Danielle Davis has joined the team as a Communications Associate with the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. Danielle has a BS in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations from James Madison University.
What inspired you to work in the sustainability field?
Molded by the New England landscape, the outdoors was always an undercurrent of Danielle’s lifestyle. Her enthusiasm for the natural world shaped her decisions, hobbies, and adventures. As she grew older, she became increasingly aware and disheartened by the accumulating litter on her childhood trails. Danielle graduated from James Madison University with a BS in Communication Studies determined to advocate for a significant cause. That’s when she found GreenBlue, where her zeal for communication and education melded with sustainability.
What do you hope to achieve at GreenBlue?
Danielle joined the GreenBlue team to strengthen her understanding of what a sustainable future could look like. Her overarching hope is to be a voice for the average consumer; to pave the way for a cleaner future. She intends to contribute her fiery passion and dedication to the mission of GreenBlue.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
- Hiking in the surrounding national parks on a very serious mission to find the best place to watch the sunrise/sunset. It’s a personal intention of mine not to go too long without seeing the beginning or break of day.
- International travel. I cherish backpacking through foreign land, fully immersing myself in different landscapes, pushing my body and mind to experience newness.
- Reading, mainly classic literature. I am working through The Great Short Works by Leo Tolstoy currently. In the que are a bunch of poetry books.
- Practicing yoga in an effort to achieve acceptance, growth, and flexibility of the mind and body.
Happiness is…
Sitting by a crackling fire, mug of tea in hand, watching snow fall outside.
