Bio

Mike is a leading expert in transformational logistics platforms from single-use to circularity, reducing the mountains of plastic and cardboard packaging entering our waste stream while saving retailers millions in packaging expenses. Over the last 20+ years he worked at the intersection of supply chain and sustainability, including directing the Sierra Club’s political operations in 20 states and building e-waste programs for companies such as Verizon, Walmart and Best Buy as the Sales and Marketing Vice President for ReCellular. Mike has an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Why do you want to serve on the Executive Committee?

I spent the first five years of my career at the Sierra Club, and that sense of mission has stayed with me throughout my career. The SPC has created critical infrastructure to drive positive change in the packaging industry, and I’d love to be able to help contribute to that mission as a member of the Executive Committee.

What do you think you would contribute as an Executive Committee representative?

Our work at Returnity has ultimately been to serve as a connector; we work with every stakeholder in the supply chain to make the switch to reusable packaging a success. I believe that experience working with internal groups like operations, finance, marketing and sustainability – and external groups like carriers and end of life recyclers, would allow me to positively contribute to the work of the committee.
