Jeff Hanratty
General Mills
Jeff is on the Global Sustainability Team as an Applied Sustainability Manager at General Mills located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During his 19-year career at the company, he’s been instrumental in bringing environmental sustainability to the forefront by first building reliable compliance management systems followed by creating environmental metrics and forward-looking indicators that brought change to his organization. In 2005 he pioneered water reuse in one of General Mills’ largest plants, one of the first in the food industry. Currently, he has accountability for global watershed stewardship efforts, integrating eco-design into the go-to-market process, facilitating packaging improvements and accounting for the reduction of the company’s value chain wide GHG footprint by 28%.
Mr. Hanratty holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in EHS Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is registered as a Professional Engineer and is a Certified Safety Professional.
