Chelsea serves as a Program Officer on the Sustainability Team for Walmart.org. This team leads philanthropic sustainability investments for Walmart and the Walmart Foundation. The team is focused on enhancing sustainability of supply chains through social and environmental efforts, and the portfolio includes worker livelihoods, responsible recruitment, food systems work around hunger alleviation and healthy eating, gender equity, and natural capital systems. Chelsea sits within the Natural Capital portion of Walmart.org’s Sustainability Team, which is focused on preserving natural resources (Forests, land/water, oceans), especially in irreplaceable landscapes and seascapes by aligning market signals, policy, community voice, data and practices. Chelsea leads work that is specifically focused on advancing research and the marketplace to accelerate progress towards a more circular economy, as well as testing models to protect ocean health and seafood sustainability.

Chelsea joined the Walmart Foundation in 2017. She previously worked on the Community team, which engages our associates and facilities to make positive change in communities where they live and work.

Before working in the Foundation, Chelsea worked in Walmart’s Responsible Sourcing organization, where she led supply chain strategy, investigations, and supplier and business engagements to mitigate social risk in international supply chains. Prior to Walmart, Chelsea worked in the nonprofit community on issues of anti-human trafficking. She also was a buyer of IT equipment at a corporation’s national headquarters in Houston.

Chelsea has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and in Spanish from John Brown University and a Master of Arts in Public Service from The Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas
