Ron Khan

PepsiCo


Ron is R&D VP Packaging for Beverages for PepsiCo, leading the full packaging program across Innovation, Productivity, Sustainability, and long term research. He joined PepsiCo in April 2018, and is based in the PepsiCo’s global R&D centre for Beverages, in Valhalla, NY. Ron has 28 years experience in packaging design and development in the CPG industry. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Ron spent 21 years at Unilever in various senior R&D Packaging roles across both Foods & Beverages, and the Home & Personal care categories. Through his Unilever career, Ron lived & worked in the UK, Germany, China and Italy. Before Unilever, Ron worked for GlaxoSmithKline (beverages & personal care), Tesco (retail), Estee Lauder (cosmetics), and then Bestfoods, which was subsequently acquired by Unilever in 2001. Born in London, Ron grew up in Trinidad, in the Caribbean, where he received his first class honours degree in Pure & Applied Physics, at the University of the West Indies (UWI). As part of Applied Physics, he did modules on Materials Science, and after doing materials research at UWI, he moved back to the UK to do a masters’ degree in polymer technology. His masters’ project on PET soft drink bottles led to his interest in packaging, which continues to this day.
